Skipton Beer Festival 2011 Press Release
Final preparations are under way for the fifth annual Skipton Beer Festival which takes place in the Town Hall from Thursday 19th to Saturday 21st May. Organised by the Keighley and Craven branch of CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale), the festival will showcase approximately 70 different traditional cask-conditioned ales from around the UK, as well a selection of European bottled beers, traditional farmhouse ciders and perries and Yorkshire fruit wines. As has become a tradition, the festival has acquired an appropriately-amusing and eye-catching logo - this year: “A fifth ewe, a fifth ewe; we all fall down!” - which will feature on the commemorative glasses and t-shirts on sale to customers and these are expected to become collectors‘ items. Hot and cold food, courtesy of Steeton‘s Rural Recipes, will be available at all sessions as will CAMRA books and products and soft drinks. Dark ales - milds, stouts and porters - will be well represented and the festival programme will feature a “mild trail”.
The festival will be open from 5pm to 10pm on the Thursday (admission free), 11am to 10pm on the Friday and 11am to 8pm on the Saturday (admission: £2). Card-carrying CAMRA members will be admitted free at all times. Due to the nature of the event, the organisers regret that under-18s cannot be admitted.
