Mild - smoooth, suave and effortlessly tastefulOn May 9th CAMRA members all over the country will have been drinking mild, because May is mild month and in particular May 9th is National Mild Day. In Skipton a group of drinkers enjoyed a tour of the pubs listed to sample mild. The group included local CAMRA members, CAMRA members from Edinburgh and the Isle of Man and a non-member who came along to try mild for the first time and who was impressed with those he tried! Some of the pubs listed put a mild on especially for the event and reported that sales had gone well. Let's hope that encourages them to stock a mild more frequently.

1 p.m. Dragon Bar and Bistro, Copper Dragon Brewery, Snaygill - Sells Black Gold as a regular. You shouldn't get it any better. It is the brewery after all.

2 p.m. Red Lion, High Street - Titanic Mild available permanently at the moment. Always goes down well - boom boom.

2.45 p.m. Devonshire (Wetherspoons), Newmarket Street. Could be anything. Who knows?

3.15 p.m. Railway Inn, near Tescos - Tetley Mild. The only place in Skipton town centre you can always get it.

4.00 p.m. Woolly Sheep, High Street - Taylors Golden Best. Always has Golden Best. Might they do the dark as well? I hope so.

4.45 p.m. Cock & Bottle, Swadford Street - Cottage Black Prince promised as a guest beer for the day. Selling Bowland Hunters Moon in the run up to the event. When it's gone it's gone.

6.00 p.m. Narrow Boat (you all know where that is) - Taylor's Golden Best and Phoenix Monkeytown Mild or Naylor’s Pinnacle Mild promised. Usually sells at least one dark beer, often a mild. 2 milds to finish with!

Not on our itinerary, but Tetley Mild is usually also available at Broughton Road Bowling Club, out beyond the railway station.
